In July 2008's issue of WIRED there was a whole section on becoming "internet famous". One of the guides included "velvet-roping" the facebook, I liked the idea when I first read about it but I felt horrible deleting people that requested me, despite only knowing them from little "helloes" in the hallways of school.
Last week I deleted my facebook and created a new one, one where I deny anyone I don't know on a personal level or trust. I highly suggest doing this if you're tired of the normal routine on facebook.
